Why does Horatio attempt to drink from the poisoned cup? How does Hamlet convince him not to?
Horatio is very Roman, and in Roman tradition, they would rather die with someone important than by their enemy's sword. Hamlet tells Horatio that he needs him to tell his story to the people because he doesn't want to leave behind a bad reputation.
